Sticky and Salty and Loving It

You heard me. Loving it. No, we're not talking about body shots, here. We're talking real, sticky, salty mist fresh off the Pacific Ocean in a little place called Newport, Oregon.

After a morning of flying and perusing Portland for camera supplies with the parentals, who picked me up from the airport, I arrived on the Oregon Coast for the first time in four years, which is far too long a time for any soul to go without. After running errands which took us through several old haunts and reminders of just how much I like to do here, we gathered back at the hotel with the rest of the clan. The whole Moscow and Seattle crew are here, along with Maw and Paw from southeastern Idaho and myself. First time we've ALL gotten together in a while. Now all we're missing is the elusive Boise pair, but that may or may not happen. We'll see.

Anyway, after one of the best "leftovers" meals I've had in a long time (crab, salmon, ribs, salads...), we headed to the dock for some fishing and crabbing. Some of the nieces and nephews have made other dock-dwelling friends. Since making jokes about keeping company with people who have crabs is just too easy, I'll refrain.

I am finally beginning to really play with my new baby, the XSi. Though I can't post some of the best portrait pics here while my blog is "public" (because some subjects are youngsters whose parents understandably wish not to have their pictures available to the whole world), I'll post a few non-descript pics here and there along with the more "boring" scenery shots.
