Stepford Mormonism
To the cookie-cut religious: rethink always "putting on a good face" and making sure you or your life seem "perfect". When nobody needs anything or has an imperfect life, then the church becomes largely irrelevant, reasons for fellowship with the saints fall dead, and the balm of truth is not being applied to anything needing to heal. Try authenticity. I don't mean belaboring your woes, moping, or fasting droopily. I just mean not being afraid to have a flawed life and to give others the opportunity to help, if they so choose, without demanding they do so. It'll likely be a touch uncomfortable, but think about that next time you tell your child to let you clean his wounds.

Good point. I've run into some who, although they don't intentionally shove their imperfections and/or less Mormonesk attitudes and behaviors down your throat in a rebellious "in your face" manner, they don't pretend to be something they're not either. I hope I'm one of them.
