Best Five Dollars

I stopped in at DI (Deseret Industries thrift store) for the heckuvit yesterday. Maybe they'd have a cheap Nintendo 64 I could use to play Mario Kart on our 62-inch TV. Or maybe a flight stick for Flight Simulator. Or a fun board game. Or shoes. Yes, shoes. Normally, the shoe selection is undesirable, but there, on the rack, a pair of blue Nikes with white accents, all retro-like and in beautiful condition. $5. Oh baby.

So today, every time I stand up and starting walking around work in my blue corduroy pants and white polo with my smashing new blue shoes, I look down and think, "Best @#$% five dollars I've spent in a very long time."

That's all.

I found the most fabulous $5 satin blouse(in a rediculousy loud pattern of large, every-color-you can-imagine colored flowers) over the weekend, and I have wanted to shout about it ever since. I've held back because I didn't want the low price to speak against the blouse's perceived value. Isn't that sad? Why should price or vendor locale matter as long as it looks good? Perhas I have turned over a new leaf...

Viva our random $5 dealio's yo!
