Ha, thanks for the compliment.

My settings: f/6.3, ISO 200, Shutter speed 1/160 sec. 75-300 mm lens at 165 mm. Um...evaluative metering, auto white balance... :-)

Secret: I took like 25 pictures, and there were only a couple I really liked.

Secret #2: I have Photoshop. The sky wasn't as blue as it looks here. And the moon was more flat. I used a couple of tricks to liven it up a touch.

Secret #3: I'm learning how to use manual controls. I like the XSi's auto controls indoors and in simple lighting, but it tends to be washed out in dim lighting. I experiment a lot. I'll take 10 pics of the same thing with different shutter speeds and aperture settings and whatnot to see how they compare. There are few things in life I have the patience to practice like that, but I think this is one of them. :-)

Ah heck, I'll even throw on the original pic so you can see how much I doctored it. :-)

P.S.--I don't doctor all my pics as much as this one, but y'know, occasionally it's fun. :-)
