I eat ice cream by the spoonful, rarely by the bowlful. It's about savoring the creamy flavor, not gorging on sugar. ...or I'm just cheap. ...or afraid of getting fat. ...or all of the above. ...probably all of the above.
...and I just ran and slid across the floor to the flatware drawer because I was excited to grab my spoon. ...but I wasn't in my undies like Tom Cruise. This house has too many windows for that.

I am going to assume that by "I wasn't in my undies," you mean to say "I wasn't in ONLY my undies" instead of any alternative interpretations. Or maybe you'd like to clarify?
You make a totally valid point. Don't go letting your imagination run wild, here: I meant...no, on second thought, your imagination is probably coming up with much more entertaining options than the truth, so go with it.
