I've always loved the peak just northeast of the condo, so I stopped to take a pic. Realizing I forgot my tripod, and there were no good surfaces to prop my camera on to point it upward, I used my shirt.
So there I was, alone in the cool breeze in the crook of two mountains dimly lit by a bright moon, in my undershirt, experimenting with different apertures and shutter speeds. Ever tried to focus in the dark? Not easy. Any tips out there?

I headed further up the trail for a bit. I stopped at an ominous-looking fence and took a picture from the back, out toward the valley from whence I came. I thought it would be the perfect picture to put some crappy pseudo-artistic title on, like "Looking Back From Forbidden".

I started to head further into the canyon, despite what I know about certain wildlife feeding habits during changes of season. There's a clear difference between narrow paths through foliage and a wide open mountainside. When I hit a really ominous-looking corner into a densely foliated, narrow path, I'd had enough and headed promptly back down, trying to ignore the dark, encroaching path behind me. Heebie-jeebies were involved, but just mild ones.
And of course, what's the point of having a fun, new camera if you don't take gimmicky "look what I can do" pictures with it? Seriously. I should think of another cheesy title for this one.

I can't believe how many stars you can see in the first one. Can you really see that many up there?
That last pic is the coolest thing! Cheesy titles I suggest:
'Descent from the Milky Way' or 'Dance of the Spirit'.
p.s. why is that lame?
Ha, good call. The "lame" part was actually from a different opening to the post, and I forgot to change the wording completely. So I've cut it now.
And yes, there are many more stars visible from back there. Beautiful.
